Interfaith Conference at Vatican
Rev. William Levada, past Archdiocese of San Francisco, has been appointed by the Pope at Vatican, to reach out to people of all faiths world wide and develop bridges of understanding and environment of peace. Rev. William Levada has initiated a Global Inter-religious Peace Initiative. He has invited interfaith community leaders to attend the interfaith conference from March 20 to March 29, 2006. Iftekhar Hai is one of the invitees and will attend the conference on behalf of United Muslims of America Interfaith Alliance. He will present a paper on global interfaith message of the Quran for all humanity.
Prayers for Peace at Washington D.C.
Prayers for Peace at Georgetown University, Washington, DC will be held from April 24 to April 26, 2006 by President of Georgetown University and Archdiocese of Washington, DC, Cardinal McCarrick. Congressmen, Senators and religious leaders from the interfaith community will participate. The purpose is to find common bonds in our religious traditions that will foster global peace among religions. Iftekhar Hai will represent UMA Interfaith Alliance. Many religious community leaders are going to participate and present papers.
San Francisco Foundation
The San Francisco Foundation together with Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights is holding a seminar on, Building Inclusive Communities.” This event will include workshops on civic engagement strategies, immigration reforms, health, education and youth issues. The seminar will be held at first Unitarian Church in Oakland. UMA Interfaith is one of the sponsors of this program and will take full part in the seminar to be held on March 29th from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm.
Abraham’s Mission of Peace at Sonoma, CA
Sonoma Luther Church is holding a seminar on Abraham’s Mission of Peace on March 29th at 4:00 pm. Jewish, Christians and Muslim speakers will present the best from their traditions that speak about reconciliation, peace and harmony. The gathering will explore on ways of building a better future by interacting in peace endeavors. UMA Interfaith Alliance will be represented by Iftekhar Hai
