California Primary Election is on June 8, 2010.
Following is the list of the propositions and the candidates which are on the ballet to vote on. Our recommendations for the propositions are indicated and the recommended candidates are high lighted in red. Other leading candidates are high lighted in black. These recommendations are for your guide lines only. You may choose to vote per your liking if you disagree. However, the important thing is to vote. The politicians generally care for those voters who vote consistently in all elections.

California's Statewide Primary is Tuesday, June 8.

·                         Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

·                         Voters who prefer to vote by mail can request a Vote by Mail ballot.

Propositions

       Yes - Proposition 13—Limits on Property Tax Assessment. Seismic Retrofitting of Existing Buildings—State of California ((Legislative Constitutional Amendment—Put on the Ballot by the Legislature—Majority Approval Required) )

Should the California Constitution be amended to provide that all earthquake safety upgrades be exempt from property tax reassessment until the property is sold? 

       No - Proposition 14—Elections. Increases Right to Participate in Primary Elections—State of California (Legislative Constitutional Amendment—Put on the Ballot by the Legislature—Majority Approval Required)

Should the California Constitution be amended to require that all candidates for statewide or congressional office run in a single primary open to all registered voters, with only the top two vote-getters, regardless of their political party preference, advancing to the general election? 

       Yes - Proposition 15California Fair Elections Act—State of California (Put on the Ballot by the Legislature—Majority Approval Required)

Should California lift the ban on public funding of political campaigns and establish public funding for Secretary of State candidates in the 2014 and 2018 elections? 

       No - Proposition 16—Imposes New Two-Thirds Voter Approval Requirement for Local Public Electricity Providers—State of California (Initiative Constitutional Amendment—Put on the Ballot by Petition Signatures - Majority Approval Required)

Should the California Constitution be amended to require two-thirds voter approval before local governments can start up or expand electric service? 

        No - Proposition 17—Allows Auto Insurance Companies to Base their Prices in Part on a Driver's History of Insurance Coverage—State of California (Initiative Statute—Put on the Ballot by Petition Signatures—Majority Approval Required)

Should automobile insurance companies be permitted to offer a discount to drivers who have continuously maintained auto insurance coverage, even if they change insurance companies?
